Collection: Chalets & Orangeries

5 products

An orangerie (or orangery) is a greenhouse designed as a beautiful garden room first and a growing space second. Unlike traditional greenhouses, orangeries have finished walls, doors suited to a garden entrance, and a look that complements your home. Many owners use them as much for seating and dining as for growing plants.

Rectangle or T-shaped?

A rectangular orangerie is a traditional sunroom shape. A T-shaped orangerie has a center wing that extends away from your house, giving you more floor space and a showpiece look. Both come in glass with aluminum frames (elegant, modern, low upkeep) or warm cedar wood (traditional, rich appearance, needs periodic finishing).

Orangerie brands and styles

  • Janssens (Exaco): glass and aluminum in Junior and Royal sizes, with automatic roof windows and hinged doors. Modern Arcadia lean-to, and our Cathedral model for a soaring glass interior.
  • Alton: Western Red Cedar with traditional styling. Cambridge and Durham come in T-shaped, and other models in rectangular. Built with rot-proof joinery.

Why choose an orangerie?

If a traditional greenhouse looks industrial in your garden, an orangerie is the answer. It is a statement piece, a garden room you are proud to show guests, and a place to grow plants or simply sit with coffee and a view. Many customers find they use it far more than they expected, not for seedlings but for orchids, tender plants, and enjoying the garden in any weather.

Orangerie FAQ

What is the difference between a greenhouse and an orangerie?

A greenhouse prioritizes function: ventilation, light, growing space. An orangerie prioritizes beauty and usability as a garden room. Think of it as a conservatory.

Can I heat an orangerie for winter?

Yes. Glass orangeries are easier to heat than polycarbs; cedar with good seals also holds heat well. Many owners add heaters and use them year-round as garden rooms.

How much does installation cost?

We can connect you with assembly crews in Georgia. Costs vary by size and complexity. Call us at 678-408-8222 to discuss options.
