The Exaco Hoklartherm Livingten is an insulated glass greenhouse for people who want crystal-clear glass and true year-round growing. Instead of single glass, it uses 22mm dual-pane insulated glass (4mm glass, a 14mm gap, 4mm glass), much like the windows in a modern home. Made in Germany.
What comes with a Livingten greenhouse?
- Thermally insulated aluminum profiles so the frame does not act as a cold bridge
- Four roof windows with heavy-duty automatic openers and two pop-out side windows for airflow
- Two sets of double sliding doors, each with a 61-inch opening
- A full-length LED light bar and roll-up shade curtains
- A model-specific foundation frame
Which Livingten size do I need?
The Livingten comes in three sizes, all about 11' tall at the peak:
- Livingten 5 (12'x15'): about 163 sq ft
- Livingten 6 (12'x17'): about 195 sq ft
- Livingten 7 (12'x20'): about 225 sq ft
That is room for growing beds, a seating area, or both. Many owners use it as a garden room as much as a greenhouse.
Is an insulated glass greenhouse worth it?

Is the Livingten glass or polycarbonate?
Glass. It uses 22mm dual-pane insulated glass, not polycarbonate.
Can I use a Livingten all year?
Yes. It is designed for year-round use. In cold areas you will still want a heater, but it needs much less heat than a single-glass greenhouse.
Does it come with a foundation?
It comes with a model-specific foundation frame. You still need a level, solid base under it, such as a concrete slab or beam. See our greenhouse foundation guide.
How is the Livingten delivered?
By freight truck. The glass ships in four wooden crates, and the total shipping weight is about 4,100 lbs, so someone needs to be there to receive it. Tell us if your street cannot take a large truck.
